Tim Wilson

Launching "Slow Sunday" with Tim Wilson as the Guest chef on the 26th  March 2017

On Sunday 26th March we had Tim Wilson from Harbour Street Tapas  to kick off our our series of slow Sundays (2.00pm – 6.00pm) which we’ll repeat from time to time throughout the year. Tim opened this delightful Spanish eatery in Whitstable last year, so it seemed appropriate to keep things Spanish / North African as a great alternative Sunday lunch.

Tim produced an epic Game fest here at B&F HQ about five years ago, this time round he cooked up delicious, Mediterranean influenced dishes over a four hour Sunday lunch.

MENU

Iberico Bellota: jamon, lomo, salchichon (with pan con tomate)

Charcoal grilled tiger prawns, chilli, ginger, wild garlic

Chicory salad, pickled walnuts, Picos Blue dressing

Slow cooked spiced lamb, tabbouleh, hummus, harissa

Monkfish and mussel fideas

Sherry braised Pardina lentils, broccoli, picada

Rhubarb Catalana

And to kick off proceedings, let us introduce you to our sponsor for this event, the Isle of Wight Distillery who will be serving up some refreshing versions of the old G&T classic.

Here’s what they say about their gin; The Isle of Wight Distillery is the first and only distillery on the Isle of Wight.  It is producing high quality, hand crafted spirits using local ingredients and botanicals that capture the salty character and flavour of the Island. Mermaids is a smooth refreshing gin, with citrus notes derived from lemon zest, salty freshness from the foraged rock samphire and hints of pepper from the grains of paradise. Serve with a good tonic, plenty of ice and a slice of cucumber. Perfect!
