I’m having a Rose Prince moment this week, in search of a great fish stew.  ‘Kitchenella’ has delivered some lovely dishes in the past and hasn’t disappointed this time.  I’m using the awesome butterbeans from ‘Brindisa’, imported from Spain, to be honest, they are great just warmed up on their own..

INGREDIENTS: Butter (milk), Garlic, Celery (celery), Saffron, Coriander, Cumin, Fish (fish) Mussels (mollusc), Wine (sulphor dioxide), Tomato puree, Butter beans, Parsley, Salt, Pepper.
 

SHREDDED, SLOW ROAST DUCK LEGS, FREEKEH, POMEGRANATE, YOGHURT, TAMARIND CHUTNEY

Another Rose Prince dish from ‘Dinner and party’.  This one’s in the party section and we definitely need a party.  I’m mixing pearl barley in with the freekeh for a little additional texture.  For those who don’t know freekeh, that’s what Google is for.

INGREDIENTS - Duck, Cloves, Coriander, Pepper, Orange, Onion, Garlic, Olive oil, Freekeh (gluten), Pearl barley, Allspice, Butter (milk) Salt, Pepper, Parsley, Pomegranate, Yogurt (milk)

BARLEY, SQUASH & MUSHROOMS, HERB & CRÈME FRAICHE DRESSING

Gill Meller getting into the veggy vibe, from his first cookbook, ‘Gather’.  Intoxicating combinations of flavours.  I’m just about to buy his latest offering, ‘Root, stem, leaf, flower’ it’s an educational and supremely tasty offering, well worth a browse.  

INGREDIENTS: Pearl barley, Olive oil, Lemon, Butternut squash, Saffron, Rosemary, Garlic, Mushrooms, Sugar, Mustard (mustard), Cider vinegar (sulphur dioxide) Crème fraiche (milk) Dill, Parsley, Salt, Pepper

From Lucas Hollweg’s ‘Good Things to Eat’ Six teaspoons of delectable, thick, rich chocolate, double cream and lashings of cardamom.  The perfect finisher to any takeaway.
